Wilson Farm

B and I just made our first visit to Wilson Farms in Lexington a couple of weeks ago. How in the world have we not visited this gem sooner? Talk about feeding the pumpkin lust! Yes, this means that you should stop here if you don’t want to see more pictures of pumpkins.

Several people who walked by commented on how unattractive and scary these “peanut pumpkins” (a.k.a. Galeuse d’Eysines) were, but I thought that they were rather interesting. The peanut-ish bumps are actually caused by a buildup of sugars underneath the skin:

My favorites were the blue pumpkins and fairytale pumpkins, and we brought back one of each. Here’s our little pumpkin family (the small white pumpkins are actually from the supermarket):
