I’ve been waiting for years for a local farm to offer a CSA / farm share with a pickup location in our city, and I finally hit the jackpot because Farmer Dave’s has come to town. Let’s just say that I was pretty excited when this past Friday, the first pickup day of the season, rolled around.
I decided to walk over and pick up my produce since the pickup location is only about a ten minute walk from our place, and my arms really got a great workout carrying all of these gorgeous greens back home. The first week’s share included bok choy, peas, spinach, lettuce, beets, hakurei turnips, tatsoi cabbage, pea shoots/tendrils, and these guys:
Each week during CSA season, I’ll be posting photos of what was in our share, and I hope to be able to post a recipe or two that includes something that I received in the week’s share. I’m so excited to see what kinds of great stuff I’ll be coming home with as the season progresses, and I hope that you are, too!
